IMMAGINI DI SDO (SOLAR DYNAMIC OBSERVATORY)
NASA's New Eye on the Sun Delivers Stunning First ImagesView related briefing materials here.
A full-disk multiwavelength extreme ultraviolet image of the sun taken by SDO on March 30, 2010. False colors trace different gas temperatures. Reds are relatively cool (about 60,000 Kelvin, or 107,540 F); blues and greens are hotter (greater than 1 million Kelvin, or 1,799,540 F). Credit: NASA
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory is returning early images that confirm an unprecedented new capability for understanding our sun's dynamic processes and effects on Earth

21 aprile 2010 — This movie starts with a magnetogram from HMI and moves on to 7 different wavebands observed by AIA's telescopes. AIA covers a wide range of temperatures and will answer important questions about the temperature and energy structure of the Sun's atmosphere.Re: IMMAGINI DI SDO (SOLAR DYNAMIC OBSERVATORY)

The first images of NASAs Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) have been revealed, astonishing heliophysicists with their brilliant clarity. Launched Feb. 11, 2010, SDO is the most advanced spacecraft ever designed to study the sun and its dynamic behavior. The spacecraft can produce images with clarity ten times better than high definition television and provide more comprehensive science data faster than any solar observing spacecraft in history. SDO will help scientists study solar activity to improve forecasts of how the suns weather affects Earth. www.nasa.gov/sdo

Mi immagino quando metteranno in funzione l'E-ELT(European Extremely Large Telescope)(nel 2017 ) quante altre cose scopriremo
